I picked up the Jamis Portal A2 from Switchback Sports and it has been a solid trail bike. The triple-butted 6061 aluminum frame feels sturdy, and the 130mm travel 3VO suspension handles roots and small drops well. The Fox Float DPS Performance Series EVOL shock with 3-position compression is easy to adjust on the fly, and the Fox 34 Rhythm fork with lock-out is a nice touch for climbs. Shimano Deore 12-speed shifting is reliable, and the 4-piston MT420 brakes give confident stopping power. Stan's No Tubes Flow D rims and Enduro Max sealed bearing pivots round out a capable setup.
