Picked up the Jamis Trail X A2 as my first real mountain bike and it has been a solid ride on Park City's easier trails. The 061 aluminum frame feels light enough to climb without wearing me out, and the Shimano 8-speed drivetrain shifts cleanly. The Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes are a big step up from mechanical ones, plenty of stopping power on descents. The SR Suntour XCE 28 fork with external preload helps soak up small bumps. The Jamis ATB Sport saddle and alloy bar are comfortable for longer rides. Good value for a beginner hardtail.
